Transportation Information
-
Transportation to and from school is provided for all children in kindergarten through grade 5. Students in grades 6 through 12 who live more than one mile from the school they attend receive transportation.
Nonpublic Transportation
Deadline April 1, 2023In compliance with New York State law, the district provides equal transportation services for Glen Cove children in grades K through 12 attending nonpublic schools up to 15 miles from their homes. Please note: The deadline to submit an application for transportation to nonpublic schools is on or before April 1, 2023 for the 2023 – 2024 school year.
To apply for transportation to a nonpublic school, a separate Private School Transportation Request form for each student must, by law, be submitted annually by April 1. If, after applying, you wish to change the school for which you had originally requested transportation, you must cancel your previous request and submit another request prior to the April 1st deadline.
Re-registering a student does not require proof of residency if the home address has not changed. The request must still be submitted to the Transportation Department by April 1.
